Ha, good call! I'm sure I'll implement that at some point, if I can bring myself to write more here. I'm experimenting with only having comments for paid subscribers - having to stump up a few bucks to comment is a nice kind of automated moderation - but I don't think I have the critical mass to sustain a chat. I like Substack and what I can do with it, but I'm wary of putting all my creative eggs into one platform basket. As we've seen with Twitter, and the other big sites, it's pretty easy for platforms to disadvantage small creators. So I'll do the chat thing eventually, probably, but in the meantime I like the idea of federating out my stuff for a bit of redundancy.
