I enjoyed this piece. Especially the air quotes around the name "Reason". It was mostly noticeable when you said "Now, we return to Reason", and then I *knew*. Thumbs up.
Re: Expanding the scope of this newsletter to be about other stuff as well. Yes please, I'm keen and would like to hear from you a bit more often. Count me in!
Just to be informed, I actually read the whole Reason column before reading your newsletter, after failing to complete reading it the first time because it was so glaringly bad. As a slightly educated person from a family which bred three journalists, I was happy to leave of reading it fairly close to the end of the second paragraph the first time, so I have you to blame for polluting my mind with the total tripe that it is, curse you! Everything you say about it is right on the button, but you might not have picked that Stuff (or maybe the Herald?) published a hot-under-the-collar article recently about the state of MIQ in one particular venue which featured exactly the same quasi-facts as those presented by Mr Reason in his plate of tripe. So, possibly, not content with stoking up someone else to write that, he also took a second swipe at the government in his dubious position of "sports writer." Interesting.
Keep writing. It's satisfying to read something that is actually reasoned. I'm sorry I can't support you financially - but I will share online in the hope that others will.
